~Lg.L'L, CS 1st Reading ti Rel:erred rt2 <br />PUBLIC !qORKS COMMITTEE on 11/17/97. <br />PLACED ON grid READING on 12/1/97. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 49-96-C <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> AN I~MERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of Public <br />Works to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide professional services in the design <br />and preparation of specifications and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into <br />a contract with the lowest and best bidder for Sewer System Improvements in accordance with the <br />Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown <br />without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the <br />public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />departments in that certain capital improvements projects are to be undertaken in 1997 in accordance <br />with the Capital Improvement Plan for tm:al year 1997, now <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD. STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to <br />engage architectural and/or engineering finns to provide professional services in the design and <br />preparation of specifications and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter mto a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of <br />Lakewood for the following Sewer System Improvements, contracts not to exceed the specified <br />amounts shown, except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />Warren Road Improvement <br />- Phase II - Relining <br />Clifton Road & Forest Road <br /> - Repair & Relining <br />Main Interceptors Sewer System <br /> Study Analysis & Capital <br />Improvemen Program <br />Detroit-Mars Emm'gency Sewer <br /> Repair Project <br /> <br />$I00.000 <br />737,000 <br /> <br />155,000 <br />45.000 <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into contracts as s~t forth above in amounts not to exceed the specified amounts without further <br />action from Council; ard to enter into conu'acts in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of <br />Council evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the authorized amount. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted tn <br />such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
