PLACED ON 1st Reading ~ Referred to <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE ON 11/17/97. <br />PLACED ON 2nd Reading ON 12/1/97. <br />DEFERRED ON 2/2/98. <br />AMENDED AT TABLE ON 2/17/98. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 54-97 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, Roth, <br /> Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />(Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, and the Director of <br />Finance to advertise for. bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood <br />for the purchase of the listed e~/uipmen=, contracts not to exceed the <br />specified amounts shown without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> <br /> WHERe, an emergency exists' to provide for the immediate <br />preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the <br />usual daily operation of municipal departments in that certain capital <br />iraprovements projects are to be undertaken in I998 in accordance with the <br />Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal year 1998, now <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the <br />Director of Public Works, and the Director of Finance are hereby authorized <br />and directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowes= <br />and best bidder in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of <br />Lakewood for the following vehicles and equipment, contracts not to exceed the <br />specified amounts shown, except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />Police <br />Police <br />Fire <br />Health <br />Streets <br />Streets <br />Fleet <br />Water <br />Water <br />Water <br /> <br />Water <br />Wastewater <br />Collections <br />Wastewater <br />Collections <br /> <br />Communications - Phase III $42,000 <br />C.A.D. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the <br />Director of Public Works, and the Director of Finance are hereby authorized <br />and directed to enter into contracts as set forth above in amou/~ts not to <br />exceed the specified amounts without further action from Council; and to enter <br />into contracts in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Council <br />evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the authorized amount. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br />this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br />were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all'legal requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
