Amended on floor 4/20/98. ~,% ORDFNANCE NO. 25-98 BY: Corrigan, Flannery, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, George SMith AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 149.20 of the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood City. WHEREAS, employees of the City, and volunteers of the Lakewood Office on Aging, who are required to use their personal automobile in carrying out their duties on behalf of the City, received a mileage allowance below the standard allowance provided under the Internal Revenue Code; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the per mile allowance for City employees and volunteers should be consistent with the Internal Revenue Code; and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare; now, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: 149.20 MILEAGE ALLOWANCE ia) . Commencing January 1, 1992, in addition to such salary or compensation as may be provided by any other ordinance, there shall be paid the sum of one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) per month to employees in group one, one hundred dollars ($100.00) to employees in group two, forty dollars ($40.00) to employees in group three, and sixty-two dollars and fiRy cents ($62.50) to employees in group four, holding the positions hereinafter designated and who are not furnished City-owned vehicles for their use in the performance of their duties: (1) Group one. A. Building inspectors. B. Outreach workers. C. Housing maintenance officers. (2) Group two. A. Sanitary officers in the Division of Pubtic Health. B. Visiting nurses. C. Building Commissioner. D. Assistant Building Commissioner. E. Meter readers. (3) Group three. A. Home health aides. B. Social service worker. (4) Group four. Part-time Building Inspection Division complaint investigators working twenty hours per week. (Ord. 3-92. Passed 1-21-92.) (b) Commencing April 1, 1986, in addition to such salary or compensation as may be provided by any other ordinance, there shall be paid to those employees of the City, and volunteers of Lakewood Office on Aging, who are required to use their personal automobile in carrying out their duties on behalf of the City, other than those City employees set forth in subsection ia) hereof, a mileage allowance of twenty cents ($0.20) per mile; provided, however, that such personal car use shall be approved by the appropriate department head and provided further that, when applicable, such allowance shall not exceed the cost of round trip coach air fare for such trip.
