PLACED ON 1st Reading ~ REFERRED TO FINANCE <br />COMNITTEE ON 3/16/98 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 27-98 BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of Finance to <br />sell, through public auctions, various obsolete, surplus and non-functioning City vehicles, <br />materials and/or equipment. <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to sell this obsolete, surplus and no,- <br />functioning equipment to make better use of the space it occupies and to realize a profit from the <br />sale, and <br /> WHEREAS, and emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of public <br />property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />deparunents, now therefore: <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> sell, through public auctions, held in the spring and in the fall, various obsolete, surplus and non= <br /> functioning City vehicles, materials and/or equipment after advertising according to law. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br /> and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br /> and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br /> formal action, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared and emergency measure for the reasons <br /> stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br /> members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br /> and approval by the Mayor, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br /> allowed by law. <br /> <br />ADOPTED: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
