ORDINANCE NO: 45-98 BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor of the City of <br />Lakewood, Ohio, to enter into a contract with the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio <br />Labor Council, Inc. on behalf of the Dispatchers. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have conducted extensive <br />negotiations with the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc., as the <br />bargaining representative for Dispatcher members of the Division of Police; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such negotiations have provided a Tentative Agreement between the <br />parties for the years 1998, 1999 and 2000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have reviewed such proposal and do <br />desire to ratify and adopt such agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure Providing for the <br />immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the usual daily <br />operation of municipal services; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE tT ORDAINED BY TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1: That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter <br />into an Agreement the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc. on <br />behalf of the Dispatchers, Division of Police, on the terms and conditions, contained in <br />the Agreement, which is made a part hereof as though fully rewritten herein, a copy of <br />which is on file in the Office of the Director of Law, and as approved by the Director of <br />Law. <br /> <br /> Section 2: R is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open meeting <br />of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that <br />resulted in such actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal <br />Requirements, <br /> <br /> Section 3: That any and all ordinances in conflict with the express provisions <br />of this Agreement are superseded by this Agreement. <br /> <br /> Section4: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elm=ted to Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall <br />take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved:/~-~ /0~ /~/ <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
