WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and sa~%ty, and m provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments/n that certain caphal improvements projects are to be undertaken in 1999 in accordance w/th the Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal year 1999, now BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to engage architectural aud/or engineering fa'ms to provide professional Services in the design and preparation of/specifications and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a conwact witl)/tbe loaf'est, and be~t bidder in accordance with the Admialstrative Code of the City of Lakewood for the following Water System Improvements, contracts not to exceed the specified mounts shown, e~xcept as h~reinafter provided: Naragansen Avenue - Replace existing waterline Niagara Drive ~Riverside to Hillinrd) - Replace existing water'line Grace Avenue (Franklin to Madison) - Replace exi~ing waterline Warren Road (Detroit to Railroad Tracks) - Replace existing waterline $ I93,600 128,000 240,000 137,280 Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contracts as set forth above in amounts not to exceed the specified amounts without further action from Council; and to enter into contracts in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Council evidenced by adoption ora resolution specifying the authorized amount. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
