REMOVED FROM <br />FINANCE CMTE & REFERRED TO PUBLIC ~IORKS <br />7/3/OO. <br /> <br /> BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of Public <br />Works to enter into a contract with the lowest end best bidder for en emergency generator for <br />Fire Station #3 in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood, <br />contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> WHEREAS, en emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the <br />public property, health end safety, end to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />departments in that certain capital improvements projects are to be undertaken in 2000 in <br />accordance with the Capital Improvement Plen for fiseai year 2000, now <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized end directed to <br />engage firms to provide professional services in the design and preparation of specifications <br />end contract administration and to advertise for bids end enter into a contract with the lowest <br />end best bidder in aecordence with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood for the <br />following Building and Facilities Improvement, contract not to exceed the specified amount <br />shown, except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br /> Replacement of Emergency Generator ..................................... $30,000 <br /> (for Fire Station #3) <br /> Section 2.- That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> enter into a contract as set forth above in the amount' not to exceed the specified amount <br /> without further action from Council; end to enter into a contract in excess of specified <br /> amounts only upon consent of Council evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the <br /> authorized amount. <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br /> concerning end relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br /> this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of eny of its committees that <br /> resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in complience with all <br /> legal requirements. <br /> Section 4. This ordinence is hereby declared an emergency measure for the reasons <br /> stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br /> members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br /> and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest <br /> period allowed by law. <br /> <br /> Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
