AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works to enter into a contract with the lowest end best bidder for en emergency generator for Fire Station #3 in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown without separate Resolution of Council. WHEREAS, en emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the public property, health end safety, end to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that certain capital improvements projects are to be undertaken in 2000 in accordance with the Capital Improvement Plen for fiseai year 2000, now BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized end directed to engage firms to provide professional services in the design and preparation of specifications end contract administration and to advertise for bids end enter into a contract with the lowest end best bidder in aecordence with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood for the following Building and Facilities Improvement, contract not to exceed the specified amount shown, except as hereinafter provided: Replacement of Emergency Generator ..................................... $30,000 (for Fire Station #3) Section 2.- That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract as set forth above in the amount' not to exceed the specified amount without further action from Council; end to enter into a contract in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Council evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the authorized amount. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning end relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of eny of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in complience with all legal requirements. Section 4. This ordinence is hereby declared an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law.
