PLACED 0I~ 2IkTD READING <br /> ~./5/o~.. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 52-o 1 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, Roth, <br /> Seel£e, Skimdell, Smith. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE adjusting appropriaUons for expenditures in the General <br />Fund for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2001. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor has been authorized enter into an agreement, on behalf of the <br />City of Lakewood to partidpate in the Hedtage Home Loan Program for the benefit of <br />Lakewood Residents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS., further, the Mayor has been authorized to enter into an agreement with the <br />Cleveland Restoration Society: Preservation Resource Center of Northeast Ohio to provide <br />professional historic preservation technical assistance to Lakewood homeowners relative to the <br />Hedtage Home Loan Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to partidpate in the program, the City of Lakewood is obligated to <br />contribute $20,000.00 to Cleveland RestoraUon Society: Preservation Resource Center of <br />Northeast Ohio to defray administrative costs of the program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Coundl by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take <br />ef~c~ at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARI'[CLE T[I, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the <br />SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the <br />usual daily operation of munidpal departments in that this program will benefit residents of the <br />City of Lakewood and should be made available to them as soon as possible. Now Therefore, <br /> <br /> BE TI' ORDAINED BY THE CTT~ OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Rnance is hereby authorized and directed to increase <br /> appropriations in the following fund by the amount stated below: <br /> <br /> General Fund $20,000.00 <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to draw <br /> checks upon the City depositories for the amounts appropriated in this ordinance whenever <br /> claims are presented properly, approved by the head of the department for which the <br /> indebtedness is incurred, providing the President of Coundl shall approve all claims for the City <br /> Coundl. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Coundl <br /> concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br /> this Council, and that all such deliberation of the Coundl and of any of its committees that <br /> resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br /> requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> necessary for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and defined in the <br /> preamble to this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of <br /> its members elected to Coundl, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately <br /> upon its adoption by the COundl and approval by the Mayor otherwise, it shall take effect and <br /> be in force after the earliest pedod allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President of Coundl <br /> <br />Clerk of Cou~dl <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
