ORDINANCE NO. 62-01A <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, GeoMge, Roth, <br /> Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 62-01, passed <br />February 4., 2002, for the purpose of increasing contracting authority for the director of <br />Public Works to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide professional <br />services in the design and preparation of specifications and contract administration and <br />to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest'and best bidder for <br />:Znfrastructure Zmprovements in accordance with the Administrative Code of the <br />City of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown without <br />separate resolution of Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, bids for the deep grind and overlay projects for Madowe <br />Avenue and Parkside Avenue were both over the project estimates and the bids for <br />deep grind and overlay projects for Cook Avenue and Mars Avenue were both under the <br />project estimates; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the total of all projects as of this date are $70,000 below <br />estimate; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected <br />thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that t~his <br />ordinance shall take effect at the eadiest date possible as set forth in AR'I3CLE <br />SECTIONS '10 and 13 of the SECOND AMMENDED CHARTER OF THE cTrY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of <br />municipal departments in that certain capital improvements projects are to be <br />completed this year in accordance with the Capital [mprovement Plan for fiscal year <br />2002. Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE 'TI' ORDAINED BY THE CTI'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OH[O: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Ordinance No. 62-01, passed February 4, 2002, currently <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized <br />and directed to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide <br />professional services in the design and preparation of specifications and <br />contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the Administrative <br />Code of the City of Lakewood, for the following [nfrastructure <br />Improvements, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown, <br />except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />Sidewalk Improvements <br />Street Signage Standardization <br />Traffic Sign Improvements <br />Vista Bridge- Design, Repair, Rehab <br />Yndianola Ave. (Hilliard to Riverside) <br />West Forest, Lake Rd. <br />Overbrook Ave. (Riverway to [ndianola) <br />Hilliard (N.
