ORDINANCE NO. 62-01A BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, GeoMge, Roth, Seelie, Skindell. AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 62-01, passed February 4., 2002, for the purpose of increasing contracting authority for the director of Public Works to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide professional services in the design and preparation of specifications and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest'and best bidder for :Znfrastructure Zmprovements in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown without separate resolution of Council. WHEREAS, bids for the deep grind and overlay projects for Madowe Avenue and Parkside Avenue were both over the project estimates and the bids for deep grind and overlay projects for Cook Avenue and Mars Avenue were both under the project estimates; and WHEREAS, the total of all projects as of this date are $70,000 below estimate; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that t~his ordinance shall take effect at the eadiest date possible as set forth in AR'I3CLE SECTIONS '10 and 13 of the SECOND AMMENDED CHARTER OF THE cTrY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that certain capital improvements projects are to be completed this year in accordance with the Capital [mprovement Plan for fiscal year 2002. Now therefore, BE 'TI' ORDAINED BY THE CTI'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OH[O: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 62-01, passed February 4, 2002, currently reading as follows: Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide professional services in the design and preparation of specifications and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood, for the following [nfrastructure Improvements, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown, except as hereinafter provided: Sidewalk Improvements Street Signage Standardization Traffic Sign Improvements Vista Bridge- Design, Repair, Rehab Yndianola Ave. (Hilliard to Riverside) West Forest, Lake Rd.
