ORDINANCE NO. 126-02 <br /> <br />PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />COMMITTEE OF THE W~OLE 6/17/02. <br /> PLACED ON 2ND READING 7/,11/02. <br /> <br /> BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGeral~ <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Skfndell. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation Officer of the <br />Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method of payment. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33 provides that the <br />legislative authority of a municipality shah fix the compensation of the Probation Officer <br />appointed by the Sudge of a Municipal Court and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of public service, welfare and safety, it <br />is necessary to fix the compensation of the said Probation Ot~ice and direct the time and method of <br />payment thereo~ now, therefore. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED'BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensadon of tho Probation Officer of the Lakewood Municipal <br />Court is hereby fixed at the aggregate sum of Forty Six Thousand Three Hundred Five Dollars per <br />annum effective April 1, 2002. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to pay said <br />comper~safion of the Probation Officer as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly <br />il~allments of equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That Ordinance No. 37-01 adopted October 18, 2001, and all, other ordinances <br />or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 4. It is found and determl.ed that all formal actions of this CoUncil concerning <br />and relafng to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its commlitees that resulted in such formal <br />actions were in meeting open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the <br />reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-~ of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall mice effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force ~ the earliest period <br /> <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: y~ <br /> <br />President <br />o /- <br /> <br /> <br />
