AN ORDINANCE authorizing membership in the Suburban Water Regional Council of Governments formed pursuant to Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code to represent the Municipal Corporation members in communications, understandings, uniform approaches and exchange of information between the Council of Governments and the City of Cleveland with respect to water service, system and local operations, rates, maintenance and capital improvements. WHEREAS, the Municipality has entered into a Water Service Agreement with the City of Cleveland for the provision of water and water related services to the - Municipality; and WHEREAS, the Suburban Water Regional Council of Governments is a Council of Governments formed pursuant to Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code whose membership is limited to and open to those political subdivisions which receive . water and/or water related services or whose inhabitants receive water and/or water related services from the City of Cleveland; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said Water Service Agreement, the City of Cleveland agreed that no water rate shall be changed, instituted or revoked prior to sixty (60) days after the Suburban Water Council of Governments receives written notice of the proposed changes, institution or revocation; and WHEREAS, the Municipality intends and desires'to be a member of the Suburban Water Regional Council of Governments upon the terms and condition contained in the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A." Now Therefore, BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. The Council finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City and its residents to join the Suburban Water Regional Council of Governments upon the terms and conditions of the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit"A." Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and instructed to enter into an execute the Agreement For Establishment of the Suburban Water Regional Council of Governments upon the terms and conditions of the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A." Section 3.
