Seelie. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE to amend section 128 1302, Collection at Source, of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood for the purpose of amending the due date of which an <br />employer is required to make a return and pay to the Administrator the amOlmt of taxes so <br />deducted during the previous month, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the current Lakewood Codified Ordinance 128.1302 was enacted:in 1967 <br />and technology has advanced in such a way as to anow employers to submit deductions in a more <br />expedite manner <br /> <br />WHEREAS, ten (10) other Regional Income Tax Agency conununities already require <br />employer deductions to be submitted on the twentieth day of the following month <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OIDO: <br /> <br />Section 1 That Section 128.1302, Collection at Source, of the Cödified Ordinances of <br />the City of Lakewood, currently reading as follows: <br /> <br />128.1302 COLLECTION AT SOURCE <br /> <br />In accordance with rules and regulation prescribed by the Administrator, each employer <br />within or doing business within the City shall deduct, at the time of the payment of such salary, <br />wages, commission or other compensation, the tax of one and one-half percent (1-112%) per <br />annum of the gross salaries, wages, commissions or other compensation due by the employer to <br />each employee, and shal1, on or before the last day of each month, make a return and pay to the <br />Administrator the amount of taxes so deducted during the previous month, However, if the <br />amount of the tax so deducted by an employer in any ODe month is less than one hundred dollars <br />($100.00), the employer may defer the filing of a return and payment of the amount deducted <br />until the last day of the month [oHawing the end of the calendar quarter in which such month <br />occurred, <br /> <br />shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />128.1302 COLLECTION AT SOURCE <br /> <br />In accordance with rules and regulation prescribed by the Administrator, each employer <br />within or doing business within the City shall deduct, at the time of the payment of such salary, <br />wages, commission or other compensation, the tax of one and one-half percent (1-1/2%) per <br />annum of the gross salaries, wages, commissions or other compensation due by the employer to <br />each employee, and shall, on or before the twentieth day of each month, make a return and pay to <br />the Administrator the amount of taxes so deducted during the previous month, However, if the <br />amount of the tax so deducted by an employer in anyone month is less than one hundred dollars <br />($100.00), the employer may defer the filing of a return and payment ofthe amount deducted <br />until the twentieth day of the month following the end of the calendar quarter in which- such <br />month occurred. <br /> <br />Section 2.
