GEORGE
MAYOR

May 18, 2006

Lakewood City Council
Lakewood, Ohio

Re: Objection to Ordinance No. 119-05, Adopted May 15, 2006

Dear Members of Council:

Attached please find Ordinance No. 119-05, Adopted May 15, 2006. I am
returning this Ordinance, without my approval, pursuant to the Second Amended
Charter of the City of Lakewood Article III, Section 10. I am formally objecting
to this Ordinance due to a formatting error. The Second Amended Charter of the
City of Lakewood Article III, Section 8 states that "[n]o ordinance or resolution
or section thereof shall be revised or amended unless the new ordinance or
resolution contains the entire ordinance or resolution or section to be revised or
amended, and the ordinance, resolution, section or sections so amended shall be
repealed." I am sure that this was an inadvertent error that should be
appropriately corrected at the next Council meeting.

Please place this item back on Council's docket for further review and
discussion at the June 5, 2006 meeting as required by the Second Amended
Charter.

Very truly yours,

,~

.~-

ft
~J
