AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative vote of at least five (5) membe($ elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law provide for creating positions and rates of pay for full-time and certain part- time annual salaried employees and hourly rate employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement in the several departments! divisions and offices of the City of Lakewood, including the Chief of Fire, Chief of PoHce and Civil Service Commissioners, effective January 1, 2006 WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five members elected thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date posslbie as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and 12 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE crn OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the City in that in the interest of public, service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to adjust the compensation of employees. Now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE crn OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' Section 1. Classificationsr rates of pay, pay grades, levels and certain other supplemental compensation for non-probationary fuJi-time and certain part-timer annual salaried and hourly rate employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement are hereby authorized in the several departments, divisions and offices of the City of Lakewood, as modified hereinr and with the approval of the Department Director, Director of Finance, Human Resources Administrator and Mayor. Effective January 1, 2006, all current full-time, certain part-time, annual salaried and hourly rate employees shall receive a general increase to their existing pay of three percent (3%), said increase to be retroactive to January 1, 2006. This general increase shall take effect only if the employee is employed with the City on the date that this Ordinance is adopted and the result does not Increase any employee's rate of pay to an amount greater than the maximum rate for the pay grade to which their classification is assigned as follows: Section 2.
