<br />Proposed substitute for reconsidered Resolution No. 8Z56-06 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />93-06 <br /> <br />BY: Antonio, Butler, Demro, Dever. <br />FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelle. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect ImmedIately proVided It receIves the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council. otherwise. It shall take effect and <br />be In force after the earliest period allowed bylaw, authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />or hIs designee to enter Into agreements, on behalf of the City, with the Ohio Asso- <br />dation of Chiefs of Police and with Sungard HTE Inc. to accept and expend funds to <br />Install and pay for five (5) years of subscription to the Sungard H.T.E. Ucensed <br />Program: OLLEISN Interface. I I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Assodatlon of Chiefs of Police ("OACP") adminIsters. finandal <br />assIstance for Improved communication and data sharing among law enforcement <br />agencies In the State of Ohio through Its Law Enforcement foundation, Inc.; and <br /> <br />WHçREAS, the City of Lakewood has been awarded by OACP the $1,200.00 In <br />Installation fees and the $4,750.00 In annual subscription fees to fully partldpate In the <br />OLLEISN Interface for a five (5) year period to enable the City to supplement Its H.T.E., <br />Inc. $oftware Ucense and ServIces Agreement WIth Sungard HTE Ine. to provide for <br />that Interface and the resulting Improvements In communIcatIons and data sharing with <br />other law enforcement agendes In the State of OhIo; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these Improvements will benefit both the citizens of the City of <br />Lakewood and the citizens of the State of Ohio by expediting crime prevention and <br />crime Investigation with the use of the latest technology by the Lakewood Police; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Coundl by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance Is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth In ARTICLE Ill, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that It Is <br />necessary for the Immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provfde for the usual dally operation of munldpal departments In that these <br />agreements will result In Improved police services, but must be executed within forty- <br />five days of November 20, 2006. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF lAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />" ,-' <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, or his designated representative, on behalf of the <br />City, be and Is hereby authorized to enter Into agreements with the Ohio Assodatlon of <br />Chiefs of Police and with Sungard HTE Ine. to accept and expend funds to Install and <br />pay for five (5) years of subscription to the Sungard H.T.E. Ucensed Program: OLLEISN <br />Interface, Indudlng both the Installation fees of $1,200.00 and the annual subscription <br />fees of $4,750.00 for a five year period. <br /> <br />SectIon 2. That the Lakewood Police fully partldpate In the OLLEISN Interface <br />to Improve communications and data sharing among law enforcement agendes In the <br />State of Ohio. <br /> <br />Section 3. It Is found and determined that all formal actions of thIs Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open <br />meeting of thIs council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of Its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />11 <br />
