<br /> AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative vote of at least
<br />five (5) members elected to Councii otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest
<br />period allowed by law, creating positions and providing for rates of pay for full-time and certain part-
<br />time annual salaried employees and hourly rate employees not covered by a collective bargaining
<br />agreement in the several departments, divisions and offices of the City of Lakewood, including the
<br />Chief of Fire, Chief of Police and Civil Service Commissioners, effective .]anuary 1, 2007.

<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five members elected thereto determines that this
<br />ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date
<br />possible as set forth in ARTfCLE III, SECTIONS 10 and 12 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF
<br />THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the City
<br />in that in the interest of public, service, welfare and safety, it is necessary to adjust the compensation
<br />of employees. Now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE ~T ORDAINED BY THE C]3'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. Classifications, rates of pay, pay grades, levels and certain other
<br />supplemental compensation for current non-prebationary full-time and certain part-time,
<br />annual salaried and houdy rate employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement
<br />are hereby authorized in the several departments, divisions and offices of the City of
<br />Lakewood, as modified herein, and with the approval of the Department Director, Director of
<br />Finance, Human Resources Administrator and Mayor. Effective ~aauary 1, 2007, all current
<br />full-time, certain part-time, annual salaried and hourly rate employees shall receive a general
<br />increase to their existing pay of two percent (2%), said increase to be retroactive to January
<br />1, 2007. This general increase shall take effect only if the employee is employed with the City
<br />on the date that this Ordinance is adopted and the result does not increase any employee's
<br />rate of pay to an amount greater than the maximum rate for the pay grade to which their
<br />classification is assigned as follows:
