PLACED ON ls` READING 11/17/08, 2ND READING 12/1/08 ORDINANCE NO. 93-08 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Dever, Madigan, Powers, Summers. AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, requesting Council's specific approval of and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a lease for property located at 17415 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio for use by the Division of Police ("Division's as the Ward I Neighborhood Police Station, in accordance with Lakewood Codified Ordinance §111.04(a)(4). WHEREAS, the Administration has identified a first floor storeroom and basement located at 17415 Detroit Avenue as a viable location for the placement of a neighborhood police station; and WHEREAS, this location will allow the police to maintain an increased visible presence on Detroit Avenue in Ward I; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date possible. as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal department in that this lease begins November 5, 2008. Now Therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. Lakewood City Council hereby authorizes. the Mayor to enter into a Lease Agreement for the Lease of .Property consisting of a first floor storeroom and basement located at 17415 Detroit Avenue, commencing January 1, 2008 and continuing month to month until canceled by either party. Section 2. Lakewood City Council hereby specifically approves the Lease Agreement by and between Albert Stratton dba Acorn Management Co., 17439 Shelburne Rd., Cleveland Hts, OH 44118 and the City of Lakewood, Ohio, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio (attached hereto as Exhibit "A'~. Section 3. It is found and determined that all forma! actions cf this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
