<, 'l/ibl~;~ <br />-?.~~ -~ PLACED ON !ST Rea"c}i%i~g 7/16/07, <br />2ND' READ%'9/~i/07"SUBSTITUTED `~~ AI~EN))ED ON THE FLOOR <br />1/20/09. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 63-07 <br />BY: Antonio, Butler, Dever, <br />Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />AN ORDINANCE to create a new Section within Chapter 1306, Property <br />Maintenance and Safety Code, titled Maintenance of Interior Structure, of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood to prohibit the use of sheets, plywood, blankets, <br />newspapers, dark plastics, cardboard or other materials not intended or designed as <br />window treatments/coverings to be hung ~i,,9n~~ windows. <br />COYnr/iun~ SS p+'f°' <br />WHEREAS, every sntn~~ies-housing stock is a key component in the future <br />viability of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a public interest in regulating the use of window <br />treatments/coverings that are visible from the public right of way or adjacent properties in <br />an effort to maintain and increase housing values. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CTI'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1. That a new Section within Chapter 1306, Property Maintenance <br />and Safety Code, titled Maintenance of Interior Structure, of the Codified Ordinances of <br />the City of Lakewood shall be enacted to read as follows: <br />jYla-~f,V'~i q IS <br />All interior window coverings, hardware and me anrsms shall be maintained in <br />good repair and working order. No person shall utiliz ~ including, but not limited to <br />sheets, plywood, blankets; newspapers, dark plastics, cazdboazd or other materials not <br />intended or designed as window treatments/coverings to be hung in windows for more <br />than thirty (30) days, unless a building permit is secured for rehabilitation or repair. <br />Section 2.
