Placed on 1st Reading ~ r~feri~ed to the <br />Public Works Committee 4/5/10, Znd Reading <br />4/19/10, Deferred ytlgj2p: <br />Amended on the floor 5/17/10. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 32-10 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, Madigan, <br />Powers, Smith, Summers. <br />AN ORDINANCE to amend section 1777.02 within the Sanitary Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood for the purpose of creating civil penalties <br />for noncompliance with rules and regulation promulgated pursuant to that section. <br />WHEREAS, the Division of Refuse is experiencing an increase in the number of <br />individuals that repeatedly violate the Division of Refuse Rules and Regulations; and <br />WHEREAS, there currently is no deterrent short of criminal action, to a violation <br />of the Division of Refuse Rules and Regulations. Now therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1. That Section 1777.02, Rules and Regulations, within the Sanitary Code <br />of the of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, currently reading as follows: <br />1777.02 RULES AND REGULATIONS. <br />The Director of Public Safety or his or her designee shall adopt rules and <br />regulations consistent with this chapter and any other ordinance of the City of <br />Lakewood for the collection and placement of trash and debris in a manner that will <br />promote efficiency and the protection of the quality of neighboring properties. Such <br />rules and regulations shall be on file in the office of the Clerk of Council. <br />shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />1777.02 RULES AND REGULATIONS. <br />(a) The Director of Public Safety or his or her designee shall adopt rules and <br />regulations consistent with this chapter and any other ordinance of the City of <br />Lakewood for the collection and placement of trash and debris in a manner that will <br />promote efficiency and the protection of the quality of neighboring properties.
