Amended on the floor 10/18/10 <br />Ordinance No.: 75-10 By: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, <br />Madigan, Powers, Smith, Summers. <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and <br />be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, amending section 1501.01, 1995 <br />Edition Adopted and section 1501.11, Copies, of the Lakewood Codified Ordinances, to <br />adopt the most recent version of the Ohio Fire Code and to clarify where the public may <br />access. copies of the Code. <br />WHEREAS, currently, the 1995 edition of the Ohio Fire Code, as adopted by the <br />Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of State Fire Marsha is the version that is in <br />effect in the City of Lakewood; and ~f~ <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Fire Code is amended from time to time causing the Ohio <br />Department of Commerce to publish newer editions of the Code. <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this. ordinance shall <br />take effect at the earliest. date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that it is necessary <br />to have the most recent version of the Ohio Fire Code in effect within the City of <br />Lakewood to .ensure proper code enforcement. Now therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That Section 1501.01, 1995 Edition Adopted, of the Lakewood <br />Codified Ordinances, currently reading as follows: <br />1501.01 1995 EDITION ADOPTED <br />Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 731.231, there is hereby adopted by the Municipality the <br />1995 edition of the Ohio Fire Code (OFC), as adopted by the Ohio Department of <br />Commerce, Division of State Fire Marshal, published in Division 1301:7 of the Ohio <br />Administrative Code (OAC). <br />shall be ahd is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />1501.01 EDITION ADOPTED <br />Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 731.231, there is hereby adopted by the Municipality the <br />2007 edition of the Ohio Fire Code (OFC), as adopted by the Ohio Department of <br />Commerce, Division of State Fire Marshal, published in Division 1301:7 of the Ohio <br />Administrative Code (OAC). The 2007 edition of the OFC shall be replaced <br />
