AN ORDINANCE amending Section 129.131, Internet Attetions, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood to allow the City to dispose of property unsold at by internet auction by selling the property for scrap value or otherwise properly disposing of the item. WHEREAS, Section 129.131 of the Lakewood Codified Ordinances currently permits the City to sell various obsolete, surplus and nonfiutctioning City vehicles, mate- rials and equipment by internet auction; and WHF,REAS, that section stands to be amended in order to provide for the disposal of City property unsold at auction; and WHEREAS, Article 18, Section 3 of the Constitution of the State of Ohio permits municipalities to exercise all powers of local self-government and to adopt and enforce within their limits such as local police, sanitary and other regulations as are not in conflict with general laws; now, therefore, BE I1' ORDAINED BY THE CITY OP• LAKFWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. Section 129.131, Internet Auctions, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, currently reading as follows: 129.131 INTERNET AUCTIONS. (a) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to sell, tiu~ough public internet auctions, on an as needed basis various ob- solete, surplus and nonfunctioning City vehicles, materia]s and/or equipment. (b) 1'he Director of Finance shall engage a representative or represent- atives to conduct said internet auctions. Such representatives shall hold bidding for each item open for a period of not less than fifteen calendar days. All internet auction sales shall be final and all items shall be sold as is. shall be and hereby is amended to read as follows: 129.131 INTERNET AUCTIONS.
