PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE 9/4/12. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 60-11 B BY; Anderson, Bullock, <br />Juris, Madigan, Nowlin <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative <br />vote of at least five (5) members of Council or otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by law, amending Ordinance No. 60-11A and authorizing <br />the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, <br />the Director of Finance, and(or the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for <br />Memberships as authorized by the 2012 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative <br />Code of the City of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed $50,000 without separate Ordinance <br />of Council. <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide the authorization to the Mayor <br />(Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director <br />of Finance, and/or the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for Memberships as <br />authorized by the 2012 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code of the City <br />of Lakewood as otherwise provided by law, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) of its members determines <br />that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the <br />earliest date possible as set forth in Article III, Sections 10 and 13 of the Second Amended <br />Charter of the City of Lakewood, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of <br />the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of <br />municipal departments in that delay could impair the City's ability to provide necessary <br />services in a timely mariner. Now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance 60-11A, adopted December 19, 2011, <br />currently reading as follows: <br />That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director <br />of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Purchasing Manager be and are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into contracts with organizations for the following <br />memberships, contracts not to exceed $50,000, except as hereinafter provided: <br />American Association of Police Polygraphists <br />American Institute of Certified Planners <br />American Payroll Association <br />American Planning Association <br />American Polygraph Association <br />American Society of Sanitary Engineers <br />American Water Works Association (AWWA) <br />Association ofMunicipal-County Judges of Ohio, Inc. <br />Association of Public Treasurorers of the US & Canada <br />Building Officials Conference of Northeastern Ohio (BOCONEO) <br />
