PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE 9/2/14. <br />PLACED ON 2ND READING 9/15/14. <br />ORDINANCE NO: 1 -14 C BY: Anderson, Bullock, Juris, <br />Madigan, Marx, Nowlin, O'Leary. <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />at least five members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest <br />period allowed by law, amending Ordinance 1 -1413, adopted July 7, 014, authorizing the Mayor <br />(Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of <br />Finance, and /or the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to <br />advertise for bids and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating <br />supplies, services and equipment as authorized by the 2014 Appropriation Ordinance and the <br />Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as <br />otherwise provided by law. <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide the authorization to the Mayor (Director of <br />Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or <br />the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids <br />and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services <br />and equipment as authorized by the 2014 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code <br />of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by <br />law, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five of its members determines that this <br />ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date <br />possible as set forth in Article III, Sections 10 and 13 of the Second Amended Charter of the City <br />of Lakewood, and that it is necessaty for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments <br />in that delay could impair the City's ability to provide necessary services in a timely manner; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO <br />Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance 1 -14B, adopted July 7, 2014 currently reading as <br />follows: <br />Section 1. The Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director <br />of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Purchasing Manager be and are hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a contract or contracts for supplies, services and equipment with the lowest <br />and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law, as follows: <br />Professional services contracts included in the 2014 Budget are as follows: <br />1) Legal Services ......................................................... ............................... ........................300,000 <br />2) Recodification of Ordinances .................................. ............................... .........................12,500 <br />
