Placed on 1St reading and <br />referred to Finance Committee <br />11/19/18; 2nd reading 12/3/18. <br />Please Substitute for original. <br />Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten <br />O'Leary, O'Malley, Rader <br />ORDINANCE NO: 50 -18 BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force at the <br />earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of <br />Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and /or the Purchasing Manager to <br />enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts for <br />the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized <br />by the 2019 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood with <br />the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law. <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide the authorization to the Mayor (Director of <br />Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and /or <br />the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids <br />and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services <br />and equipment as authorized by the 2019 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code <br />of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by <br />law; and <br />WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of <br />Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this <br />ordinance is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health, and safety and to provide <br />for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that delay could impair the City's <br />ability to provide necessary services in a timely manner for fiscal year 2019, now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1.
