RESOLUTION NO. 3767 BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />Checkley, Fahrenbach, <br />Fairgrieve, Gaydos, <br />Gottermeyer, Quinn, <br />Ward. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION extending heartfelt congratulations to Fire Chief Jay <br />V. Redmond on completing 40 years of service to the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The members of Council take particular delight in ex- <br />tending to Chief Jay V. Redmond their congratulations upon the achieve- <br />ment of his ~Oth anniversary as a member of the Lakewood Fire Department, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Redmond became a member ef such department on <br />January l, 1917, and in recognition of his meritorious service on be- <br />half of the City of Lakewood, he progressed rapidly from the position <br />efa fireman to that of a lieutenant on JanmarY l, 1918, to a captain <br />on January 5, 1923, to assistant chief on Narch l, 1932, and to chief <br />on July l, 195~, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, During his service as a member of the Lakewood Fire <br />Department, it was honored many times for its outstanding record in <br />fire prevention and fire fighting, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, By his splendid leadership and fine example, he has <br />earned the esteem, devotion and loyalty ofhis fellow officers and <br />members of the Fire Department, now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, That as an expression of our sincere best wishes for <br />the continued happiness, success and well being of Chief Redmond, and <br />in recognition of his ~0 years of outstanding service to the community, <br />we the members of the Council of the City of Lakewood adopt this reso- <br />lution and cause a copy thereof to be spread upon the minutes of this <br />meeting, and be it further <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, That the Clerk of Council transmit a duly authenti- <br />cated copy of this resolution to Fire Chief Jay V.
