<br /> A RESOLUTION relative to the death of George F. Quinn, member of
<br />the Lakewood City Council.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, The members of the Lakewood City Council are deeply
<br />grieved to learn of the recent and untimely death of our fellow member
<br />and co-worker, George F. Quinn; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, A veteran in the legal profession, a former president
<br />of this Council for four years and a member for fourteen years, Mr.
<br />Quinn will be missed by his coterie of professional and Council associ-
<br />ates who fOund in him the pure gold of honor and the warmest ray of
<br />perennial friendship and a crystal clear code of ethics of the highest
<br />order; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Quinn was endowed with a keen mind and indefatig,
<br /> able energy, he used such talents principally for the benefit of his
<br /> less fortunate fellow men, the indigent, the ill and the aged; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr~ Quinn was a vice-president of the Welfare Federa-
<br /> tion and actively served on many of its committes, at one time being
<br /> chairman of three of them; his knowledge obtained from such service
<br /> earned him the reputation of being one of the ablest community repre-
<br /> sentatives in the hearing rooms of the State Legislature;. and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, George F. Quinn held the position of Vice-President
<br />of the Ohio Citizens Council and served as Trustee of the Community
<br />Chest, Catholic Charities, and was a Board Member of St. Anthony,s
<br />Home for Boys, Cleveland Hospital Council, Anti-tuberculosis League,
<br />Family Service Association, Advisory Council of State Division of
<br />Aid for the Aged, Advisory Committee of State Nurses Board, Metro
<br />Public Health Study Group, Advisory Committee of Cleveland Department
<br />of Health and Welfare; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, George F. Quinn held prominent positions on the Board
<br />of St. John's, Lakewood, Cleveland City and Highland View hospitalS; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, For many years he was actively associated with the
<br />Knights of Columbus, having served as a Past Grand Knight of the
<br />Lakewood Council of the Knights of Columbus; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, George F. Quinn, in addition to his civic duties, was
<br />a devoted husband and loving father and a grateful son, now, therefore,
<br />be it
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED, That in recognition of a life of service devoted to
<br />the well being of his fellow men, and in respect to those coveted ideals
<br />which served as the
<br /> · guiding beam of one devoted to the fostering of the
<br />highest professional and altruistic motives in the many spheres of ac-
<br />tivities in which he chose to play an active role, we adopt this resolu-
<br />tion by a rising vote and cause a copy thereof to be spread upon the
<br />minutes of this meeting; and be it further
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED, That the Clerk of Council transmit an authenticated
<br />copy of this resolution to Frances L. Quinn, his wife, and to the chil,
<br />dren and mother of the deceased.
