RESOLUTION NOo 3827 BY: Messrso <br /> <br />Chockley~ Fahrenbach, <br />Fairgrieve, Gaydos, <br />Gottermeyer, Lawther, <br />Ward. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION refusing the consent sf the City of <br />Lakewood to the proposed Limited Access Highway and Bridge ~ich the <br />Director of Highways of Ohio is considering in accordance with the re- <br />port made by Knappen-Tippetts-Abbett-McCarthy~ Consulting Engineers, <br />and approving the Statement of Reasons for that denial and Possible <br />Alternatives° <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Director of Highways of Ohio has by letter dated <br />July ~9, 1957, requested that this Council c®nsent to the proposed r~- <br />locatmon and~improvement of U. S. Routes 6 and 20 and State Route 2 mn <br />the City of Lakewood by means of the construction of a new bridge and <br />the necessary approaches thereto north of the Nickel Plate Railroad, <br />directly connecting Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood with <br />Westlake Road in the City of Rocky River; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, It is considered that the requested improvement is not <br />necessary or urgent and that if an improvement is to he made in said <br />routes there are more desirable alternative proposals; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Special counsel for the City of LakeW°od has prepared <br />a Statement of Reasons for the denial of said consent and possible <br />alternatives; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the requested consent of this Council to the <br />proposed improvement is hereby refused and denied. <br /> <br /> Section 2o The Statement of Reasons for that denial and possible <br />alternatives prepared by special counsel and reviewed by the members of <br />this Council is hereby approved and adopted as an action ef this Council. <br /> <br /> Section 3o The special counsel and the law director are hereby <br />instructed to file said Statement of Reasons for the denial and possible <br />alternatives with the Director of Highways of Ohio. <br /> <br /> Section $o That this resolution is an emergency measure for the <br />reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and provided it receives the af- <br />firmative vot~ of two-thirds of all members-elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted:.~eptember 2~, 19~7 <br /> <br />Approved: September 2~, 1957 <br /> <br />Thomas C..~ard <br /> President <br /> <br />Ho A.
