RESOLUTION NO. 3834 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Fairgrieve, Gaydos, <br /> Gottermeyer, Law, her, <br /> Ward, Chockley, <br /> Fahrenhach. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION relative to the devoted service of Jay V. Redmond <br />as Chief and member of the Lakewood Fire Department. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council has learned that Chief Jay V. Redmond <br />has been a member of the Lakewood Fire Department for forty years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, During his long, faithfml and devoted service to the <br />City of Lakewood, the City has won national recognition for fire safety; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Being a man of humble demeanor, seeking more the de- <br />velopment of benefits for his fellow men and for his community, rather <br />than personal acclaim; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Redmond has by his lifelong devotion to duty, <br />his leadershiP, his vision, his integrity, his loyalty and his ability, <br />made our community a finer place in which to live; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Redmon~ has done much in the training of the <br />younger men of the department, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Redmond is ever willing to respond to the aid <br />and assistance of our community, even beyond the call of duty; now, <br />therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, That this council express to Chief Jay V. Redmond <br />its sincere appreciation for his devoted service to the City of Lakewood <br />and its citizens, and convey felicitations to Chief Jay V. Redmond on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood and its citizens, and wish him the best <br />of health and much happiness in the years to come, and that we adopt <br />this resolution and cause a copy thereof to be spread upon the minutes <br />of this meeting, and be it further, <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, That the Clerk of Council be and he is hereby di- <br />rected to transmit a duly authenticated copy of this resolution to <br />Chief Jay V.
