<br /> A RESOLUTION commending the Honorable William H. Fahrenbach
<br />for his service as a member of the Lakewood City Comncil.
<br />
<br /> ~EREAS, Prier to the tarn of the century, the Honorable
<br />William H. Fahrenbach selected Lakewood as his residence, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Having been trained in the field of law, his inter-
<br />ests gradmally gravitated toward the political arena, and
<br />
<br /> ~qERE~,His genial nature and affability suited him particu-
<br />larly to service at the local level, and
<br />
<br /> EEREAS, The residemts ef Ward 2 of the City of Lakewoed
<br />recognized in him a champion of their needs and elected him as their
<br />representative to begin service in the year 1932, and
<br />
<br /> EEREAS, Service to his constituents has been of such an
<br />effective nature that the voters of Ward 2 have consistently re-
<br />turned him to Commoil ever since his original electiou, and
<br />
<br /> EEREAS, His colleagues in Council have honored Mr. Fahrenbach
<br />for his contribution to the City and to the Council by electing him
<br />as President, which position he held from 1936 to 1939, and
<br />
<br /> EEREAS, N~merous meetings of the City Council have been
<br />enlivened by the philosophical observations made by oar distinguished
<br />colleagme, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, By his devotion to the problems of his ward and to
<br />the people therein residing, Mr. Fahrenbach has established a record
<br />of longevity of service that is mmparralled in the history of our'
<br />community, and
<br />
<br /> ~HEREAS, His contribution te the civic, local and political
<br />life of omr City, County and State can serve as a model for future
<br />generations to follow, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Fahrenbach has been a devoted hmsband, father
<br />and grandfather, and
<br />
<br /> ~EREAS, His ear~er as a lawyer and councilman are replete
<br />with stellar achievements and accomplishments and can serve as a
<br />model to those in public life and these holding aspirations of seek-
<br />ing public office,~ now, therefore, be it
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED, That in commendation of the life and service of an
<br />outstanding lawyer amd a distinguished member of oar Council, over a
<br />span of twenty-eightyears, and the contribution that he has made to
<br />th? legal, political, social and ctultaral life of oar community,
<br />whmch he has so ably served, and the moulding of the life of these
<br />whose sphere of activity tomched directly or indirectly the life of
<br />the Honorable William H. Fahrenbach, and as an expressionof the
<br />sincerity of our geed wishes for continued health and happiness and
<br />as evidence of the deep affection and high regard in which we hold ~
<br />our eminent colleague, William H. Fahrenbach, we adopt this resolu-
<br />tion and cause a copy thereof to be spread upon the minutes of this
<br />meeting, and be it further
