RESOLUTION NO. 399~ BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />Ward, Williamson, <br />Ohockley, Gaydos, <br />Gottermeyer, Huffman, <br />Lawther. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of <br />Public Works to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new four <br />doerlsedan for the office of the 0ity Engineer and to sell one 1955 <br />Ford four door sedan, now in service in the office of the City <br />E~gineer. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, It is necessary to replace the 1955 Ford f~ur door <br />sedan now in service in the office of the City Engineer, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, It is necessary that the purchase and sale be made <br />at as earl~ a date as possible, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that the said purchase and <br />sale is for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health and safety, and in that it provides for the usual daily oper- <br />atign of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF CHI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be <br />and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase <br />and sale of the following equipment: <br /> <br />(a) The purchase of one new four door sedan <br /> <br />(b) The sale of one 1955 Ford four door sedan <br /> <br /> Bids shall be taken in such a manner as to provide a bid for <br />the purchase of the new vehicle only, the sale of the used vehicle <br />only and forthe purchase of the new vehicle less the amount allowable <br />as a trade-in on the new vehicle. The City shall reserve the right <br />to award the contract or contracts in accordance with such alternate <br />bidding. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- <br />bers elected te Council, it shall take effect and be in force im- <br />mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: May 16, 1960 <br /> <br />F.
