RESOLUTION NO. 399~ BY: Messrs. Ward, Williamson, Ohockley, Gaydos, Gottermeyer, Huffman, Lawther. AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director of Public Works to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new four doerlsedan for the office of the 0ity Engineer and to sell one 1955 Ford four door sedan, now in service in the office of the City E~gineer. WHEREAS, It is necessary to replace the 1955 Ford f~ur door sedan now in service in the office of the City Engineer, and, WHEREAS, It is necessary that the purchase and sale be made at as earl~ a date as possible, and, WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that the said purchase and sale is for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and in that it provides for the usual daily oper- atign of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF CHI0: Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase and sale of the following equipment: (a) The purchase of one new four door sedan (b) The sale of one 1955 Ford four door sedan Bids shall be taken in such a manner as to provide a bid for the purchase of the new vehicle only, the sale of the used vehicle only and forthe purchase of the new vehicle less the amount allowable as a trade-in on the new vehicle. The City shall reserve the right to award the contract or contracts in accordance with such alternate bidding. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- bers elected te Council, it shall take effect and be in force im- mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
