RESOL~ION NO. 39~8 BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />Gottermeyer, Huffman, <br />Lawther~ Ward, <br />Williamson, Chockley, <br />Gaydos. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, as Director of <br />Public Works, to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new <br />Caterpillar traxavator or approved equal for the Division of Parks <br />and Public Grounds and the sale of one 195~ Caterpillar traxavator, <br />now in service in the Division of Parks and Public Grounds. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ In order to avail the Division of Parks and Public <br />Grounds of modern, efficient and up-to-date equipment~ it is neces- <br />sary to authorize the purchase of one new Caterpillar traxavator or <br />approved equal, and, <br /> <br /> ~REAS, The said purchase and sale should be made at as <br />early a date as possible, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that the same provides for <br />the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and <br />safety, and in that this resolution provides for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be <br />and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase <br />and sale of the following equipment: <br /> <br />(a) The purchase of one new caterpillar traxavator or <br /> an approved equal. <br /> <br />(b) The sale of one 1953 caterpillar traxavator <br /> <br /> The amount bid for the used Caterpillar traxavator to be sold <br />by the City shall be deducted from the price bid for the new Cater- <br />pillar traxavator or approved equal to be purchased by the City. The <br />net price shall be quoted. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- <br />bers elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force im- <br />mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: May 16~ 1960 <br /> <br />Approved: Ma~ 17, 1960 <br /> <br />F.
