RESOLUTION NO. 4017 BY: Messrs. Huffman~ Lawther, Ward, Williamson, Chockley, Gaydos. A RESOLUTION adopting plans, proposing to cooperate with the State of Ohio and requesting the Director of Highways to proceed with the improvement of Lake Avenue within the City of Lakewood, Ohio. WHEREAS~ At a meeting of the Council of Lakewood, 0hio~ held this Sth day of August, 1960~ a quorum being present~ the improve- ment of U.S.R.No. 6 DA, under the provisions of Chapter 5521~ Ohio Revised Code~ came on for further consideration; said portion of high- way, as described in the legislation proposing cooperation with the State Highway Director of Ohio~ enacted on the 20th day of June, 1960, being as follows: u. s. R. 6 Da (0.00) The improvement of U.S. 6DA (0.00)~ locally known as Lake Avenue~ by removing part of the existing asphaltic surface and resurfacing the existing pavement from curb to curb~ on all of U.S. 6DA which lies within the corporate limits of the City' of Lakewood, being in all a distance of about 2.98 miles; and WHEREAS~ In said legislation proposing cooperation, said Council proposed to cooperate with the State Highway Director of Ohio in the improvement of the above described highway by assuming the pay- ment of and contributing an amount of money which is to be applied toward the total cost of said improvement~ which amount is determined by and equal to the following: (1) One hundred percent (100%)of the cost of adjusting munic- ipally owned utilities~ (if any), and (2) Forty percent (40%) of all remaining costs of the improve- ment. Said percentages shall include their respective costs of pre- liminary and construction engineering, contingencies and incidental expenses. The Director of Highways notwithstanding the percentage basis of contribution may allocate the money contributed in whatever manner he may deem necessary in financing the cost of construction~ rights-of-way, engineering and incidental expenses. Said amount is now estimated to be Thirty-Two Thousand Seven Hundred Forty ..... 00/100 Dollars ($32~71~0.00), but said amount is to be adjusted in order that the City's ultimate share of the cost of said improvement shall cor- respond with said percentages of actual cost when said actual costs are determined; and~ WHEREAS~ The State Highway Director has approved said legisla- tion proposing cooperation and has caused to be made plans and speci- fications and an estimate of cost and expense for improving the above described highway~ and has transmitted copies of same to this legisla- tive authority; and~ WHEREAS, ~nds for the payment of the estimated cost of said highway improvement, other than the proportion and share of said cost that is to be borne by the State of Ohio, have become available, as to which funds the fiscal officer has made a certificate, now on file with this Council and here recorded as follows: I hereby certify that the money, towit, $32,740.00 required for the payment of the cost other than that part thereof assumed by the State of Ohio, for the improvement of that portion of U.S.Route No. 6DA, as described hereinbefore~
