Messrs. Lawther, Usher, RESOLUTION NO. 4193 BY: Ward, Wendling, Williams0n, Gaydos, Huffman. AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION ratifying and affirming emergency contracts entered into by the ~irector of Public Works with the Kalill Company and the Ace Trenching Company for snow removal services during the recent snow storms, and authorizing and directing the Director of Finance to pay the sum of $ 3,942.06(Three thousand nine hundred and forty-two dollars and six cents) to the Kalill Company and the sum Ofo$1;690~00~ (one thousand~six hundred and ninety dollars) the Ace Trencing Company for such services. WHEREAS, ~uring the recent snow storms, the employees and equipment ~f the City of LakewoOd were inadequate to render the streets ~d Diaewatks within the City of LakewoOd reason~ ~bl~ safe; and, DirectOr of Pubiic Wo~ks~e~mined tha~ an in %hatadditional ~er~on~el and equipment were ~dea aelay to ~mo9e ~now and ice from public streets and sidewalks for the safety o~ the public, and, WHEREAS, The Kalill Company and the Ace Trenching Company agreed to furnish such additional personnel and equip- ment immediately, which offer was accepted by the Director of Public Works, and, WHEREAS, The said Kalill Company and the Ace Trenching Company have submitted their itemized statements for personnel and equipment costs in the amounts of $3,942.06 and $1,690.00, respectively, to the Director of Public Works, and, WHEREAS, This resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety and for the usual daily operation of a muni- cipal department; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the emergency contracts entered into by the Director of Public Works with the Kalill Company and the Ace Trenching Company for snow removal services during the re- cent snow storms are hereby ratified and affirmed and the Director of Finance is authorized and directed to pay the sum of $3,942.06 to the Kalill Company and the sum of $1,690.00 to the Ace Trenching Company for such services. Section 2. This resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect' and be in force immediately upon its adoptionand approval by the Mayor.
