RESOLUTION NO, 4207 BY: Messrs. Ward, Wendling, <br /> Gaydos, Huffman, <br /> Lawther, Usher. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending Charles S. Huffman, Sr. for his <br />many years of dedicated and faithful service to the City of Lakewood <br />as Secretary to the Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charles S. Huffman, Sr, has resided in the City <br />of LakewOod since 1920 and has devoted more than forty yearsto the <br />training and education of Lakewood children as a teacher in the Lake- <br />wood public schools, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, for thirty-three years Charles S. Huffman, Sr. <br />has also served in the capacity of Secretary to the Civil Service <br />Commission, giving, without reservation, his time and talents in the <br />development of methods and procedures designed to preserve and <br />strengthen the safeguards of Civil Service, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, his duties have always been carried out in a <br />manner consistent with the highest standards of integrity and respon- <br />sibility, and with a love of this community so genuine that none <br />could mistake his interest and enthusiasm for motives of lesser <br />worth, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as the result of his years of service he has <br />become recognized as an expert in the field of Civil Service and as <br />such has often been called upon to lend aid and assistance to numerous <br />communities throughout Cuyahoga County and the State of Ohio, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, his ability, leadership, personal warmth, and <br />devotion to duty have earned for him the esteem and admiration of his <br />fellow citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, his services in behalf of the City of Lakewood <br />have been terminated as a result of circumstances beyond his control; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section t. That in recognition of his long tenure as a <br />teacher, public servant, and citizen of Lakewood, this Council <br />hereby expresses to Charles S. Huffman, Sr. its heartfelt thanks and <br />appreciation for his many years of tireless effort and devotion to <br />the Civil Service Commission and for his outstanding contribution to <br />its high standards of excellence. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
