RESOLUTION NO. 4664 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Gaydos, Graber, <br />Huffman, Kelley, Usher, <br />Wendling <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Council and the Administration <br />of the City of Lakewood to the family of the late David K~ Chahoc, First <br />Lieutenant, United States Army. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council ~ the City of Lakewood desires to honor the memory <br />of our brave young men serving in Vier Nam who have unselfishly sacrificed <br />their lives for the freedom of mankind, and whose passing should not go <br />unnoticed by the residents of our community; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS~ David K. Chahoc was a resident of the City of Lakewood, having <br />attended Lakewood High School from which he was graduated in June of 1966; <br />and, <br /> <br />%~EREAS, four months after his graduation~from Lakewood High ~choo~, David <br />K. Chahoc was drafted into the United States Army and following his basic <br />tratnimg, was accepted in Officers~ Candidate School, and suc=essfully <br />completed his instruction at Ft. Benning, Georgia; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, David K. Chahoc firmly believed in the United States' committment <br />in Vier Nam and was inte=ested in the welfare of the Vietnamese people; <br />he volunteered for duty there in order to express his strong feelings, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, David K. Chahoc, age 21, was killed in Vier Nam on September 29,1968 <br />in hostile action , and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, David K. Chahoc was a loyal and patriotic young man who chose to <br />serve his country during wartime, and deserves our gratitude and respect <br />for making the ultimate sacrifice; now, therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAI~EWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That this entire Council and the Administration honor the <br />memory of David K. Chahoc, and extend deepest sympathy to his parents, <br />Mr. and Mrs. Clarence C. Chahoe of 1570 Highland Avenue, Lakewood, and <br />to his brothers and sister. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to the family of <br />David K.
