Wendling, Brockman, <br />Graber, Kelley, Magnotto, McBride, <br />Usher <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION giving consent of the City of Lakewood, <br />Cuyahoga County, Ohio to the instfillation of a traffic control system on <br />Clifton Boulevard from tile west corporation line to the east corporation <br />line under the supervision of the County of Cuyahoga and proposing to <br />cooperate with the County of Cuyahoga in certai~ matters incident thereto. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, great public inconvenience has been suffered and will <br />continue to be suffered due to a traffic control system which does not <br />meet current State Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices and which <br />results in much delay to the residents and motoring public, and reduced <br />safety; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is desirous of being on record <br />petitioning the County of Cuyahoga to expedite, at the earliest time, the <br />installation of a traffic control system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has agreed, as part of its financial <br />participation, t~ provide engineering plans of the installation of a traffic <br />control system, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1. It is hereby declared to be in the public interest that <br />the consent of the City of Lakewood be and such consent is hereby given to <br />the County of Cuyahoga to install a traffic control system on Clifton Boule- <br />vard from the west to the east corporation lines, which installation shall <br />greatly facilitate the movement of traffic and increase the safety to the <br />public. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City of Lakewood requests that all government funds <br />that are available for this purpose be applied, that the installation be <br />programmed at the earliest possible date and that the City of Lakewood <br />c6nsents and requests this improvement. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the~preamble hereof and pro- <br />vided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected <br />to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br /> <br />adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br />Adopted :~~ ~///~ 7 2/~ <br /> <br />7i~ent~ ~ <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
