RESOLUTION NO. 4898 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Usher, Wendling, Brockman, <br />Graber, Magnotto, McBride <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works to <br />enter into a' contract for the purchase of approximately two thousand tons <br />(2,000) of rock salt for the period comanencing November 1, 1972 and ending <br />March 31, 1973. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide safety for vehicular and pedestrian traffic <br />during the winter months, it is necessary to purchase salt, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby author- <br />ized and directed to enter into a contract for the purchase of two thousand <br />(2,000) tons of rock salt for the period commencing November 1, 1972 and ending <br />March 31, 1973, for the Department of Public Works, with the lowest and best <br />bidder after advertisement according to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Approved:~/~ ~// <br /> <br />Vice President / <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
