Graber, Magnotto, <br /> McBride, Usher, Wendling, <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor of the <br />City of Lakewood to make application with the Department of Natural Resources, <br />State of OhiO, for financial asszstance under the Land and Water Comservation <br />Act program to repair the breakwall in Lakewood Park° <br /> WHEREAS, the erosion by wave action is creating a loss of land area to <br />Lakewood Park and causing further pollution to Late Erie, which conditions should <br />he corrected as soon as possible, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to repair the breakwall <br /> in Lakewood Park and to grade and terrace the land adjacent thereto and use same <br /> for outdoor recreational purposes, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Land and Wa~er Conservation Fund Act of 1964 <br /> (Public Law 88-578) provides financial assistance to the State of Ohio for outdoor <br /> recreation purposes, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, Ohio desires financial assistance under the <br /> Land and Water Conservation Fund Act program, and <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLrNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Seotion 1. That Lakewood City Council hereby approves filing an <br /> application for Land and Water Conservation Fund Act financial assistance. <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> execute and file an application with the Department of Natural Resources, State of <br /> Ohio and to provide all information and documentation required in said application <br /> for submission to the Federal Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. <br /> Section 3. That Lakewood City Council does hereby agree to supplement <br /> the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and thus become <br /> eligible for Land and Water Conservation Fund Aet financial aid of fifty percent (50%) <br /> of the actual allowable reimbursement cost° <br /> Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br /> affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected tO Council, it shall take effect <br /> and be in force ir~nediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br /> Clerk/' <br /> Approved: '~~ <br /> ' Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
