Wendling, Werner, Brockman, <br /> Graber, Magnotto, McBride, Usher <br /> <br /> AN EMERGE~:CY RESOLUTION aothor~zing and directing the Mayor of the City <br />of Lakewood to enter into a contract to employ a Project Engineer to supervise thc <br />construction of the new multi-level municipal ~arking garage facility, the Belle <br />Avenue and the Donald Avenue - Thoreau Avenue area sewer installation and the <br />improvements to the Lakewood Incinerator, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, tile construction of the multi-level parking garage, the Belle <br />Avenue and the Donald Avenue - Thore~Avenue area sewer installations and the <br />improvements to be made to the Lakewood Incinerator are all major public improve- <br />ment projects vital to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Such projects present major problems and difficulties in <br />coordinating the work of the various contrac%ors, snbcontractors and material men <br />which require the services of a qualified Project Engineer, and <br /> <br /> WI~REAS, at tile present time the Engineering Department of the City of <br />Lakewood does not haw: a staff sufficient to unde~mke these duties and responsibilities, <br />and' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the contract of the City of Lakewood with Ramp Engine~:ring <br />Associates requires that the City prevideon-the-job supervision of the multi-level <br />municipal parking garage at the City's own expense, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this res, lution constitntes an emergency measure in that it <br />provides for the imme~diate preservation of tile public healtbi safety and'welfare and <br />for the usl~al daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE COUNCIL OF TIKE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor of the City ~ Lakewood be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract to employ a Project Engineer to <br />supervise the construotion of the new multi-level municipal parking garage facility, <br />the Belle Avenue and the Donald Avenue - Thoreau Avenue area sewer projects and the <br />improvements to the Lakewood Incinerator and to pay compensation for such services <br />in an amount not to exceed $1,500.00 per month° <br /> <br /> SeCtion 2. Payment for such s'ervices is to be made proportionately from <br />such funds as the servic~ of the Project Engineer are being rendered and this shall <br />constitut~ appropriation of such funds for the purposes hereinabove set forth. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirr~ative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoptio, n and approval by tile Mayor. <br /> <br /> President / <br /> CIer~ <br /> ~ Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
