RESOLUTION NO. 4968 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Werner, <br /> Brockman, Graber, Magnotto <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works <br />to enter into a contract for the purchase of approximately three thousand <br />tons (3,000) of rock salt for the period corm~encing November 1, 1973 and <br />ending March 31, 1974. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide safety for vehicular and pedestrian <br />traffic during the winter months, it is necessary to purchase salt, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare <br />and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be, and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to ente~ into a contract for the purchase of three <br />thousand (3000) tons of rock salt for the period commencing November 1, 1973 <br />and ending March 31, 1974, for the Department of Public Works, Division <br />of Streets, with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according <br />to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon <br />it~ adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted~~ /~./? ~ <br /> <br />~Pre?ident <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
