RESOLUTION NO. 5001 <br /> <br />BY: Mess~s.Brockman, Graber, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, McBr£dg~ ~%naBra, Usher <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION in memory of John H. Weeks, former State Senator <br />for the 25th District of Ohio. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, John H. Weeks recently passed away after a lifetime <br />of service to his community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, John H. Weeks was a graduate of the College of Wooster <br />and received a Law Degree from Cleveland-Marshall Law School which also <br />presented him with the Outstanding Alumnus Award in 1964, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Senator Weeks although Vice President of a major cor- <br />poration found time to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the <br />College of Wooster, the Board of Trustees of Lakewood Public Library, <br />Vice President of the Regional Hospital Planning Board, Chairman of the <br />Cuyahoga County Hospital Facilities Survey Committee, Director of the <br />Rotary Club of Cleveland, President of the Cleveland Industrial Relations <br />Association and Member of the Lakewood Hospital Board of Trustees, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, following a long and successful business career~ Mr. <br />Weeks decided to run for the State Senate in 1966 and brought to that <br />body recognized maturity, integrity, and leadership which resulted in <br />his selection as "Outstanding Freshman Legislator", and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the many contributions of Senator Weeks to the City of <br />Lakewood during his long residency here caused him to be recognized as <br />one of Lakewood's most outstanding citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such devotion and dedication should be recognized and <br />memorialized in a proper and fitting manner, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extends to the family of <br />Senator John H. Weeks its deepest sympathy during this time of grief, and <br />its appreciation in behalf of all citizens of the City of Lakewood for his <br />years of devoted public service to the entire Greater Cleveland community. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to <br />Mrs. John H.
