RESOLUTION NO. 5044 BY: Messrs. Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra~ <br /> Usher, Brockman, Graber, Chinnock <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of <br />the City of Lakewood, to make application for financial assistan6e under <br />Title VI of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973, as <br />amended and to execute a contract with the Cleveland Area Western Reserve <br />Manpower Consortium for participation in a program under the Emergency <br />Jobs and Unemployment Assistanc& A~t of 1974. <br /> <br />WMEREAS, The City of Lskewood has been determined by the Hnited States <br />D~partment of Labor to be an eligible program agent under Title VI <br />Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, as <br />amended, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS~ the Cleveland Area Western Reserve Manpower Consortium has re- <br />ceived funds for the City of Lakewood for use by the city in the Emergency <br />Job Program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance in order <br />to aid in the alleviation of the problems of the unemployed within the <br />City, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Resolution constitues an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and <br />for the further reason that these funds must be Applied for at the earliest <br />possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CII~ OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he <br />is hereby authorized and directed to make application for funds under <br />Title VI Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training <br />Act, as amended. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he <br />is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Cleveland Area <br />Western Reserve Manpower Consortium for participation in the. Emergency Job <br />Program under the Emergency Jobs and Unemployment Assistance Act of 1974. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thi=ds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br /> <br />That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approve~~ ~?/~ ~'~ <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
