RESOLUTION NO. 6149 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Chinnock, Magnotto, <br /> Salmon, Sinagra. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOL~rEION urging that the Board of Lo nty Con~nissioners <br />of Cuyahoga County be designated as an Area Agency on Aging for Cuya~ioga, Lake, <br />Lorain, Geauga and Medina counties. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on March 17, 1976 the Ohio Commission on Aging voted to <br />consolidate Ohio Planning and Service Areas 10 and IOA ~n order to b~ing ab~out <br />one Area Agency on Aging for the counties of Cuyaboga, Geauga, Lake, Lorai~ and <br />Medina, and <br /> <br /> WUEREAS, on April 1, 1976 legal notice was made by the Ohio Commission <br />on Aging that letters of intent to apply would be received by the Ohio Commission <br />on Aging from applicants to serve as Area Agency on Aging ~n order to carry out <br />responsibilities as set forth in Federal and State regulations and guidelines, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t~ Board of County Co.~nissioners bas made known to the Ohio <br />Commission on. Aging its intent to apply for Designation as an Area Agency on <br />Aging, and <br /> <br /> WIIEREAS, tl~is R~solution constitutes an emergency meas~re ~n that such <br />designation shou]:d be accomplished at the earliest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOI~VEi) BY TIlE COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF I,AI(I!;W()OI.), STATE OE OillO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City of Lakewond Supports the applicatim~ of the <br />Board of County Co,m~issioners to be designated as the Area Agency on Aging for the <br />Counties of Cuyaboga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City o.f Lakewood strongly urges tile State of Ohio <br />and its Commission on Aging to recognize and designate the Board of County <br />Commissioners as theiArea Agency on Aging. <br /> <br /> Section 3, That the Clerk of Council be and she is l:~ereby authorized <br />and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to James A. Rhodes, <br />Governor of the State of Ohio; Martin A. Janis, Executive Director of tile Ol~io <br />Commission on Aging and to the Executive Director of the Cuyaboga County Office <br />on Aging ~ <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in tile preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Conneil, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption at~ approval by tile <br />Mayor; <br /> <br />Cler~ <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
