RESOLUTION NO. 5301 BY: Messrs. Salmon, Usher, Brockman, <br /> Chinnock, Brc~m, Magnotto, McBride <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION expressing the request of the City of Lakewood <br />to the Commissioners of Cuyahoga County to conduct a study <br />in regard to the possible preservation of the old Detroit <br />Rocky River Bridge for use by citizens as a pedestrian <br />walkway, mall and bicycle pathway. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certamn federal monies mn a sum exceeding one million <br />dollars are scheduled to be spent to demolish the old Detroit <br />Rocky River Bridge, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the old Detroit Rocky River Brmdge as a structure <br />of historic value and social value, and may possibly be renovated <br />for use by citizens, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the feaslbmlmty of preserving the facility will depend <br />upon a thorough study of the pro3ect which the Commissioners of <br />Cuyahoga County have indicated they are willing to undertake if <br />~eCity expresses a request for said study; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Sectmon 1. That the City of Lakewood hereby expresses a request <br />to the Commissioners of Cuyahoga County to conduct a thorough <br />study an regard to the possible preservation of the old Detroit <br />Rocky River Bridge for use by citizens as a pedestrian walkway, <br />mall and bmcycle pathway. This ~udy shatl no~ l~ any way delay ~e <br />construction of the new bridge on Detroit across Rocky ~iver. <br /> <br />Section 2.
