RESOLUTION NO. 5306 BY: Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, Salmon, Usher, Brockman, Brown AN ~V~GENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to accept such grant and enter into a contract with Cuyahoga Oounty Board of Cora~issioners covering such grant for the period of January I, 1978 through December 31, 1978 providing partial funding for the Social Services Program in the City under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. Wt{EREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Co~nissioners is administering a program of grants from the Federal Govermment, under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act, whereby this City may obtain monies to provide supportive social services for persons 60 years of age or older, and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance in order to maintain the present Social Services Program for Senior Citizens, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the inmediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that these funds can be obtained at the present time; now, therefore, OHIO: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE~0OD, STATE OF Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Board of Comnissioners, providing partial funding of the City's Social Services Progrsmunder Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affinmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force ~iately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. p esiden% Approved: h,g z??
