RESOLUTION NO. 5306 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Chinnock, Magnotto, <br /> Salmon, Usher, Brockman, Brown <br /> <br /> AN ~V~GENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood, to accept such grant and enter into a <br />contract with Cuyahoga Oounty Board of Cora~issioners covering such grant <br />for the period of January I, 1978 through December 31, 1978 providing <br />partial funding for the Social Services Program in the City under Title <br />III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. <br /> <br /> Wt{EREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Co~nissioners is administering <br />a program of grants from the Federal Govermment, under Title III of the 1973 <br />Older Americans Act, whereby this City may obtain monies to provide <br />supportive social services for persons 60 years of age or older, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance <br />in order to maintain the present Social Services Program for Senior <br />Citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the inmediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare <br />and for the further reason that these funds can be obtained at the present <br />time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKE~0OD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be <br />and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the <br />Cuyahoga County Board of Comnissioners, providing partial funding of the <br />City's Social Services Progrsmunder Title III of the 1973 Older Americans <br />Act. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affinmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force ~iately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br /> p esiden% <br /> <br />Approved: h,g z??
