RESOLUTION NO. 5322 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. McBride, Salmon, Brockman <br />Chinnock, Brown, Magnotto <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf <br />of the City of Lakewood, to make application for financial assistance <br />under Title Ill of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of <br />1973 as amended and to execute a contract with the Cleveland Area <br />Western Reserve Manpower Consortium for the purpose of providing <br />financial assistance to the West Shore Vocational Program. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been determined by the United States <br />Department of Labor to be an eligible program agent under Title Ill <br />Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, as <br />amended, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare <br />and for the further reason that these funds must be applied for at <br />the earliest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and <br />he is hereby authorized and directed to make aPplication for funds under <br />Title Ill Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training <br />Act, as amended. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and <br />he is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Cleveland <br />Area Western Reserve Manpower Consortium for the purpose of providing <br />financial assistance to the West Shore Vocational Program. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the Director of Finance is hereby directed to forward <br />said grant funds upon receipt to the West Shore Vocational Program <br />for the p.urpose of providing the necessary financial assistance for <br />the West Shore Vocational Program. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to. be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br />receives the afflrmat~ve vote of two-thirds of all members elected <br />to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Approve~~t ~? ~y~ <br /> <br /> <br />
