Brockman, Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, McBride, Salmon <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorlzlng and dlrecti~g the Mayor, on behalf <br />of the City ot Lakewood, to make application ~or financial assistance <br />under Title III of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of <br />1973 as amended and to execute a contract with the Cleveland Area Western <br />Reserve Manpower Consortium for the purpose of providing flnancial <br />assistance to the Ecumenlcal Youth Ministry. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been determined by the United States <br />Department of Labor to be an eliglble program agent under Title II1 <br />Emergency Job Program, Comprehens've Employment and Training Act, as <br />amended, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cleveland Area Western Reserve Manpower Consortium has <br />received financial assistance in order to maintain and improve their <br />current program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolutlon constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare <br />and for the further reason that these funds must be. applied for at <br />the earliest possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section I. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and <br />he is hereby authorized and directed to make application for funds under <br />Title Ill Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training <br />Act, as amended. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he <br />is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Cleveland <br />Area Western Reserve Manpower Consortium for the purpose of providing <br />financial assistance to the Ecumenical Youth Ministry. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the Director of Finance is hereby directed to forward <br />said grant funds upon receipt to the Ecumenical Youth Ministry for the <br />purpose of providing the necessary financial assistance for the <br />Ecumenical Youth Ministry. <br /> <br />Section ~. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected <br />to Council, it shall tak~ effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />adoption and approval by the.
