RESOLUTIQN NO. <br /> <br />5330 <br /> <br />BY: Wendling, Brockman, Brown, Magnotto, <br /> McBride <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Ex-Officio <br />Director of Public Works to enter into a contract for the purchase of approxi- <br />mately forty-five hundred tons of sodium chloride (rock salt) for a period <br />~f one yea~ commencing September 1, 1978 after advertising according to law. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to Provide safety for vehicular and pedestrian <br />~raffic during the winter months, it is necessary to purchase salt and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure pro- <br />viding for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and <br />welfare, and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />©HIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor as Ex-Officio Director of Public Works <br />be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the <br />purchase of approximately forty-five hundred tons of sodium chloride (rock <br />salt) for the period co~enclng September 1, 1978 and ending August 31, 1979, <br />after advertlsino accordino to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for t~e reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all me~ers elected to <br />Council. it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and aPProval bv the Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />
