RESOLUTION NO. 5333 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Brown, Ch !nnock, Magnotto, <br />McBride, Salmon, M!rs. Wendling, <br />Mr. Brockman <br /> <br />AN EMERG'ENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the <br />City of Lakewood, to make application for financial assistance nnder Title I <br />of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 as amended and!to <br />execute a contract with the Cleveland Area Western Reserve Manpower ConSortium <br />for participation in a program under the Emergency Jobs and Unemployment <br />Assistance ACt of 1974 for a period commencing September 1, 1978 and ending <br />August 31, 1979. <br /> <br />~{EREAS,~ the City of Lakewood has been determined by the United States <br />Department of Labor to be an eligible program agent under Title I Emergency <br />Job Program, Comprehensive Emp. loyment and Training Act, as amended, andl <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cleveland Area Western Reserve Manpower Consortium has received <br />funds for the City of Lakewood for use by the City in the Emergency Jobi <br />Program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood Hospital and the Lakewood Board of Education are in need <br />of financial assistance in order to maintain and improve the School of <br />Practical NurSing, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that these funds must be applied for at the earliest poss!ible <br />time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and hel is <br />hereby authorized and directed to make application for funds under Titlel I <br />Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, as amended. <br /> <br />:Section 2. That the Mayor, on.behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and hel is <br />authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Cleveland Area WeStern <br />Reserve Manpower Consortium for participation in the Emergency Job Program <br />under the Emergency Jobs and Unemployment Assistance Act of 1974 for a <br />period commencing September 1, 1978 and ~ending August 31, 1978. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the Director of F~nance is hereby directed to forward said <br />grant funds upon receipt to Lakewood Hospital and the Lakewood Board of <br />Education for the purpose of providing the necessary financial assistance for <br />the School of Practical Nursing. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br /> /? <br />Aaopted . qZ/ <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
