RESOLUTION NO. 5349 BY: Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendlin9, Brockman, <br /> Brown <br />AN}~V[ERGENCYRESOLUTION approving the formation oftheCuyahoga Municipal <br />Council Association and authorizing the City to join said association upon <br />its official organization. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Lakewood has received a proposal for <br />the lo,nation of an organization to be known as the Cuyahog~ Municipal Council <br />Association, a copy of said proposal attached hereto and incorporated herein, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEitEAS, Council supports the proposal of the formation of such organization <br />of which its stated purpose is "to help the municipalities of the county solve <br />their individual and common problems", and <br /> <br />Wt~_/{EAS, the creation of such organization willdepend upon the initial <br />cormYitment of the councils of the cities situated within Cuyahoga County, and <br /> <br />WHEFd~iIS, Councflis of the opinion that it would be i~ the best interests <br />of the City for this Council to join said association upon its official <br />organization, ~and <br /> <br />~HEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and Welfare amd for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVEDBYTHE COUNCIL OF ~%IE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Council of the City of Laka~vood supports the formation <br />of mi organization called the Cuyahoga Municipal Council Association to be <br />formed for the purpose of helping the municipalities of Cuyahoga County solve <br />their individual and comron problems. <br /> <br />Section 2. That Lakewood City Council is hereby authorized and directed to <br />join said association upon its official organization. <br /> <br />Section 3. Thatthis Council will elect one of its members to represent the <br />Council of the City of Lakewood in the fonnationof said Cuyahoga Municipal <br />Councll Association, ' <br /> <br />Section 4. That this Council agrees to pay the sum of Two MundredDollars <br />($200.00) to cover duesand expenses for the first year of operation of such <br />organization. <br /> <br />Section 5. That the-within corm~itment of support of the formationof the <br />Cuyahoga Municipal CouncilAssociation and agreement shall remain in force <br />fora period of twelve (12) months from the date of the adoption of the within <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Section 6.
